Victims' Stories: Shah

  • Shah met his wife at a friend's wedding ceremony in Cuba in 1999
  • Maintained a friendly relationship for two years afterwards
  • His romantic relationship began in 2003, on her proposal; Shah visited her on numerous occasions
  • He married her in February of 2005; he had twelve members of his family fly in for the second wedding on June 7, 2005
  • He was in contact with her every day
  • She used to tell him how much she loved him every day by telephone or messages
  • He sent money to support her every two weeks
  • She was granted her visa with out any interview on February 13th, 2006
  • She arrived in Canada on May 6, 2006
  • Shah attended to her every need, not only as husband, but also as a loving human being
  • She had never told him that she loved him once after she came to Canada
  • Shortly after receiving her PR Card, she left on June 26, 2006
  • After trying to reach her a number of times through e-mail; She had told Shah to go on with his life and threatened him that if he take any action she will go to collect welfare and he will be responsible
