Victims' Stories: Qudsia
- She went to Pakistan and married Sulman in March 2005
- Qudsia received many letters, e-mails, cards and phone calls 3-4 times a
week from Sulman
- Sulman received his visa in November 2005
- After Sulman received his visa, she had problems trying to contact him and
his family made excuses and said that he had gone to another city for truck
lessons
- Sulman had already arrived in Canada on November 22, 2005 without informing
her
- Two weeks later, Qudsia's relative had seen Sulman in a local mall, and
worse, he was living few minutes away from Qudsia's home
- She called the Embassy and Canadian Border Services Agency, who notified
her that nothing can be done, as he has already arrived in Canada
- Also contacted MP, and he said that he has been in this profession for many
years but didn't see any changes in the system
- Called the Social Assistance / welfare department to check whether or not
he has been on welfare and asked them to notify me if he goes on the welfare
- Qudsia sees him on the TTC, local malls, community functions and
gatherings; Sulman lives happily as if he has done nothing wrong
- Her husband used her to come to Canada and had no plans to live with with
her
- Almost one year, and nothing has been done
